Long term, I want to win Wimbledon. That’s my number one goal. But in the short term, I just want to keep staying healthy and improving my skills. Working on the actual development of them rather than any immediate results - that’s my priority right now.

This year, she prioritized Wimbledon over other tournaments. She missed the French Open after not being selected as a wild card entrant and prepared early for the grass season. The Brit did have a few positives and performed well at Wimbledon, where she lost in the fourth round to Lulu Sun.

Moreover, she also declined the offer to play for her country at the Paris Olympics. Instead, Raducanu decided to stay back and train harder for the last quarter of the tour. She had a good outing at the Citi Open, where she lost to Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals.

Raducanu had learned new values of life during her time of recovery. She revealed that she is a very impatient person and injuries have taught her to not rush into things and take them slowly instead.

I think the biggest lesson I’ve learnt in terms of injury recovery is not to rush back. My impatience is probably one of my biggest downfalls because I basically rushed the process of my recovery, and set myself back many months.

She has been taking it slow this year, playing only the tournaments she thinks will help her in the long run. Raducanu also opted out of a few tournaments to prioritize her body and is slowly getting back to her old form.
