After the match, Raducanu praised the crowd for their support. She lauded them for sitting patiently in the heat to watch the game and joked that it’s better for the players to play as compared to those fans sitting on the court under the scorching sun.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. I could really hear you guys and feel it. It’s a much bigger court than the center court in Nottingham. It’s really nice to see so many people out here battling the heat. I actually think it’s worse for you guys sitting down in the heat than for us playing and sweating in it, so big props to you.

Raducanu’s opponent in the next round, Pegula, won the Berlin Open the last week. She saved five championship points to defeat Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya in the final in three sets 6-7(0-7), 6-4, 7-6(7-3) to win her first title on grass and her first WTA title of the year.

I'm just really grateful to have this feeling again because it's something I've been missing in a way for the last few years. I haven't felt this good about my tennis, and have just been excited about it and passionate for a long, long time.
Emma Raducanu said at the press conference

Raducanu is a Grand Slam champion, having won the 2021 US Open as a qualifier. At Wimbledon, she achieved her best when she made it to the fourth round in 2021. She missed almost the entire last year due to three surgeries.
