Emma Raducanu, after finally reaching the second round of a tournament since the Singapore Open, suffered from a full-blown panic attack. In the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships on Tuesday evening, she was up against 14th seed Karolina Muchova on Court 2 when she spotted a man in the first few rows.
The 22-year-old was at 0-2 in the first set when she approached her team for a brief chat before she talked to the chair umpire. The next moment, she slowly walked away to hide herself behind the chair umpire to calm herself down.
Muchova too approached her to console her. The Brit later could be seen wiping away her tears with the towel.

At that moment, the reason behind Raducanu breaking into tears wasn’t apparent. The WTA has now revealed the shocking details behind her meltdown.
On Monday, February 17, Emma Raducanu was approached in a public area by a man who exhibited fixated behavior. This same individual was identified in the first few rows during Emma’s match on Tuesday at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and subsequently ejected. He will be banned from all WTA events pending a threat assessment.

Following the horrifying incident, Raducanu came back from 4-0 down to push the first set into a tiebreak. After her straight-set win over Maria Sakkari in the first round, Raducanu could progress no further as she eventually lost the match, 7-6(6), 6-4 to Muchova.
Emma Raducanu was stalked by a man in 2022 who was handed five-year restraining order
Back in 2022, Emma Raducanu‘s father Ion Raducanu filed a police complaint after a stalker, Amrit Magar, trekked 23 miles to her home and stole her father’s shoe as a souvenir. Magar had gone to her home on three separate occasions and left several gifts and cards.
Magar, a former delivery driver from Harrow in London, was drawn toward the then 19-year-old Raducanu because of her high-profile status which she gained following the 2021 US Open. Raducanu scripted history when she won the title at Flushing Meadows as a qualifier.
Her father was apprehensive that Magar might take revenge on her daughter because he filed the complaint. Magar had been given a five-year restraining order by the District Judge, which means he was prohibited from contacting Raducanu and her parents, and wasn’t allowed to come to any sports ground or stadium where Raducanu was playing.
After the latest incident, fans on social media are concerned whether it was Magar whom the police escorted and the WTA banned from all events. Raducanu hasn’t yet made any comments on it.
