A couple of more months from now, Andy Murray may no longer be walking onto the courts as he announced earlier this year about his plans to retire. After his retirement, Emma Raducanu will be one of those British players to have the pressure of being the home hope at Wimbledon.
But Raducanu said she thrives under pressure and loves to play on big courts. After her third-round win over Greece’s ninth seed Maria Sakkari 6-2, 6-3, Raducanu was asked about the pressure of playing big matches on the Centre Court after Murray’s retirement.

I love playing on the big courts. I thrive on such occasions, on big stages. It’s something I play tennis for. I love the feeling of it. Competing. Especially here in front of a home crowd.Emma Raducanu said at the press conference
Raducanu, who reached the fourth round of Wimbledon for the second time in her career (previously in 2021) expressed her gratitude to the fans for always rooting for her.
It really felt like that today, and it felt like that in my last two matches. So, for me, I feel happy that many people are behind me. That’s just a microcosm really of what’s going on in the wider world. Because not everyone who’s supporting me is in that stadium, as well. Pressure is a privilege. I thrive in those situations.Emma Raducanu added
Raducanu will next face New Zealand’s Lulu Sun on July 7th. It will be their first encounter on the WTA Tour.
Emma Raducanu will play mixed doubles with Andy Murray
Andy Murray thought it was best not to play the singles at Wimbledon after surgery on his spinal cyst. He played his doubles match with his brother Jamie Murray but lost in the first set to John Peers and Rinky Hijikata and after that, he received a farewell.

But that match was not his last one at Wimbledon, because he teamed up with Emma Raducanu for the first time to take part in the mixed doubles category. Raducanu and Murray received the wild cards and are set to lock horns with the pair of Marcelo Arevalo and Zhang Shuai on July 6.
The three-time Grand Slam champion once joined Serena Williams for a mixed double match in 2019. But Raducanu doesn’t have much experience in doubles as she played it just once before joining Murray.
