Emmanuel Acho blaming racism for recent firing of multiple Black coaches doesn’t sit well with fans – “How is this dude still yapping on television?”
In a recent episode of The Facility, Emmanuel Acho highlighted that there’s less opportunity for black coaches to prove themselves.

Antonio Pierce and Jerod Mayo found their debut seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders and the New England Patriots respectively, which has led many to speculate that there’s severe racism associated with coaching personnel. Former American linebacker Emmanuel Acho addressed the same in a recent episode of The Facility, stating that the white coaches are reportedly more hired and continued to remain in the position for a long time.
The 2024 season has been critically evaluated for racism long since Robert Saleh’s firing mid season. Saleh, who has Lebanese Muslim heritage, wore a Lebanese flag pin in the game before his firing. A Muslim-advocacy group named CAIR urged the New York Jets’ owners to explain the reasons behind Saleh’s immediate and unprecedented removal from office.
According to a USA TODAY Sports’ NFL Coaches Project, it is revealed that since the implementation of the Rooney Rule in 2003, POC coaches have been more than three times as likely to be dismissed after just one season, as seen with Pierce and Mayo, compared to their white counterparts. The Rooney Rule, named after former Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney, mandates that teams interview minority candidates for head coaching roles and other prominent positions.
Emmanuel Acho, who’s currently embroiled in controversies with Joy Taylor, highlighted certain statistics in the recent episode. Acho acknowledged that that the white coaches gets more opportunities to prove themselves while the black coaches are offered less.
FS1's Emmanuel Acho implies racism is to blame for how unfairly black coaches have been treated compared to white coaches in the NFL:

“53 white head coaches have been hired, 6 got fired after 1 year (11%). 14 Black HCs have been hired, 5 got fired after 1 year (35%).”… pic.twitter.com/DmMquYwDjZ
Acho’s comments might ring true upto a certain standard. Mayo and Pierce definitely didn’t show up with the results, both Patriots and Raiders being one of the worst ten teams. However, Brian Daboll of New York Giants and Brian Callahan of Tennessee Titans are staying with their teams despite their bitter records.
Emmanuel Acho can’t get a break with the fans cornering from all angles
Emmanuel Acho needs a break – he’s transferred some of Jerry Jones’ mojo being victimised by one scandal after another. The former linebacker is struggling to save his reputation while being cornered on another front after he alleged racism for the firing of Antonio Pierce and Jerod Mayo in the wake of dismal seasons.
A user by the name @TerpRecruiting called out Acho as a yapper while acknowledging that Acho spews nonsense in all times. Here are some of the reactions:
How is this dude still yapping on television in the year 2025

Here are the coaches records.
— SLANDR SZN ☠️ (@im_right_though) January 9, 2025
Coaches that win dont get fired. Chip Kelly had the best record and was fired. None of the black HC's that got fired managed to be over .250
its not a race thing, its a results thing
Tomsula .353
Kelly .438
Kitchens .375
Meyer .154
Hackett…
Well when you suck at a job you get fired that simple. Coaching is the same way. There are just guys who aren’t cut out being a head coach… I wanted Mayo to succeed. Mayo is one of my favorite patriots players. that is the statistics not my opinion do with that as you will.

As Acho tries to un-mess himself from this position, the Raiders and Patriots along with some other clubs are heading into a tough offseason.
