Trevor Lawrence’s mammoth deal worth $275 million made a lot of noise in the league as many believe the quarterback does not deserve it. This deal enlisted the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback among the top five highest-paid quarterbacks, right below the highest-paid Joe Burrow– which led to people wondering on what basis the team offered Lawrence such a deal. 

With the quarterback’s ability under intense scrutiny, Emmanuel Acho brought in a new perspective by stating his firm belief in Lawrence that he will justify the lucrative deal in the coming 2024 season. As he highlighted there’s a reason why Lawrence was a standout player at Clemson and under head coach Doug Pederson, he will only flourish. 

I think Trevor Lawrence will live up to his contract. Reason being, for $55M you have to win a Super Bowl and I can't count out the Jags from winning a Super Bowl because of Trevor Lawrence and Doug Pederson.

The analyst complemented the Jaguars head coach’s ability to turn a competent quarterback into a Super Bowl-contending one. Pederson’s record speaks for itself as he led the Philadelphia Eagles to score victory in Super Bowl LII after defeating the legend Tom Brady’s New England Patriots despite having an unstable signal-caller position. 

Since joining the Jaguars, head coach Pederson made significant progress by taking the team from a bizarre 3-14 to an impressive 9-8 record with the AFC South title. Last season, though the team couldn’t qualify for the playoffs, they didn’t regress in any manner and maintained the same flow as before. 

Emmanuel Acho believes in Doug Pederson’s proven ability to transform quarterbacks

While talking about how Pederson has the tendency to turn a good quarterback into a great one, Acho also credited him for the grand success of Nick Foles– under whom the Philly outperformed Brady at his prime. He believes the former Clemson quarterback is just the player for the transformation. 

Trevor Lawrence is a good quarterback. I believe he has all of the tools to be a great quarterback. He [Doug Pederson] can turn a talented quarterback into an MVP-caliber quarterback for a season.

Under head coach Pederson, the Jaguars believe Lawrence has the capacity to bring the franchise its first Super Bowl trophy. The lucrative $275 million deal is just the right move.
