One of the most surprising comebacks of this season has been the Minnesota Vikings, yet when it comes to contenders, their name is taken with a bit of hesitation. Despite a stellar 12-2 record and contention to win the NFC North, Emmanuel Acho believes the Vikings are not receiving the respect they deserve.
In the recent episode of Fox Sports’ The Facility, the former NFL linebacker sparked a debate in the league by declaring the Vikings as “the most disrespected team in the NFL.” He emphasized that their status as contenders is often met with skepticism even though they hold records similar to the Super Bowl contenders like the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Vikings have the same record as Detroit Lions. Same record as the Philadelphia Eagles but we do not talk about the Vikings in the same line. I do understand that they have a quarterback [Sam Darnold] who’s not proven over the course of years. I get all that! I do understand that this is a younger team that pertains to playoff experience. I get all that! But 12 wins to 14 football games is incredibly hard to do. I think the Vikings are the most disrespected team in the NFL.

While highlighting the Vikings’ performance throughout this season, Acho ranked them second-best in terms of offensive and defensive minds in football after Andy Reid and Steve Spagnuolo in the Kansas City Chiefs.
Sam Darnold calls for offensive improvement despite Vikings’ dominant win
The Vikings are coming off another stellar game against the Chicago Bears in Week 15, marking their seventh consecutive victory. However, when quarterback Sam Darnold addressed the media in the post-game press conference, he called for improvement in the offense while applauding the defense for the “unbelievable play.”
I felt like we didn’t play exactly the way that we wanted to an offense tonigh. Can be a lot better in a lot of ways, but we got the job done, and that’s all that matters.

With his solid win, the Vikings have tied in contention for the NFC North with the Lions, who recorded their second loss of the season recently. As the playoff berth is clinched, they are heading for a match against the Seattle Seahawks, followed by the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 and the Lions in Week 17.
