In Short
  • Emmanuel Acho believes the Ravens have provided Lamar Jackson with all necessary resources to win a Super Bowl.
  • Despite a star-studded roster, the Ravens have struggled to achieve playoff success in recent years.
  • The addition of Maxx Crosby has improved the Ravens' Super Bowl odds, now at +1000, making them favorites in the AFC.

Scrolling through Adam Schefter’s X post about Maxx Crosby’s trade, readers might notice a pattern that brings up a familiar question the Baltimore Ravens have faced in recent years: “How much does Lamar Jackson need to win?” Emmanuel Acho carefully elaborated on the statement in the recent episode of Speakeasy.

Acho, a former NFL athlete turned football pundit, called the Ravens the “all name team.” He proceeded to recite all the big players the Ravens have accumulated, including Crosby.

If there’s ever been an all-name team, it is the Baltimore Ravens. Maxx Crosby, Roquan Smith, Kyle Hamilton, Nate Wiggins, Malaki Starks, Marlon Humphrey, Zay Flowers, Lamar [Jackson], Derrick Henry… Names, names, names.

Emmanuel Acho said

The Ravens have little to show for it despite boasting a star-studded roster. They have dominated the AFC North, but even winning that proved difficult last year. The Steelers eventually clinched divisional supremacy along with playoff qualification.

Sure, Jackson missed a few games due to injury, but the Ravens still didn’t look like a playoff-caliber team, even with the two-time league MVP calling shots from under center. Right after the season ended, the Ravens underwent a big overhaul. Long-tenured coach John Harbaugh was fired, and his staff followed him out the door.

The higher-ups turned to former employee Jesse Minter, who managed the Chargers’ defense in 2025 (fifth best in the league). 29-year-old Declan Doyle was appointed as the new offensive coordinator to help Jackson take the next step.

With Crosby’s addition to the team, fans will expect the Ravens to not only win the North but also secure a safe passage into the next Super Bowl. But that’s a bonus on the defensive side of the ball. The responsibility to invigorate falls on Jackson. He holds a 76-31 record in the regular season but is 3-5 in the playoffs, with only one AFC Championship appearance on his resume.

The Ravens have done everything they can do and have made every effort—different coaches, different coordinators, different systems for Lamar Jackson over the last two years. To me now, alright I will say, “Lamar, go deliver.”

Acho quipped

Jackson’s cavalry of wide receivers includes exciting talents like Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, LaJohntay Wester. Adding a veteran free agent might just be the answer to truly make the offense elite. Super Bowl winner Mike Evans could be the answer the Ravens are looking for.

What are Lamar Jackson’s chances of becoming a Super Bowl champion following the Maxx Crosby trade to the Ravens?

Crosby is among the best pass rushers in the league alongside Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons, TJ Watt, and Trey Hendrickson. He accumulated 39 combined tackles, 69.5 sacks, 133 tackles for loss, 29 pass deflections, and 11 forced fumbles in 110 appearances for the Raiders since 2019.

The 29-year-old’s addition made a massive impact on the Ravens’ chances of securing their third and Jackson’s first Super Bowl ring. According to Josh Dubow of the Associated Press, the Ravens are +1000 favorites to win the Super Bowl next February at SoFi Stadium. Only the reigning champs, the Seahawks and the Rams, boast better odds (+800).

After losing to the Steelers on the final day of last campaign, the Baltimore franchise ended up with 24th strongest schedule. They could easily go on a run similar to the Patriots took to reach the Super Bowl in San Francisco.
