Longtime FS1 contributor Emmanuel Acho was let go in a significant shake-up at Fox Sports. The network also canceled his show ‘The Facility,’ which he co-hosted with former NFL players LeSean McCoy, TJ Houshmandzadeh, and James Jones.
On Monday, a spokesperson from Fox Sports, via The Athletic, announced that Acho and his crew had been cut and they no longer work at the network for the foreseeable future. The shock from the news had yet to settle in when Acho addressed a message to his followers on X.
In sports, when you’re not good enough, you get cut. In TV, when you’re not good enough, you get canceled. I’m not going to try and come to y’all with some… Big announcements soon. Stay tuned, because I don’t actually know what’s coming. But what I do know is I trust God.
Emmanuel Acho tweeted
Acho joined Fox Sports in 2020 and received a Sports Emmy for Emerging On-Air Talent in 2021. The network put Acho in charge of their new show, Speak, in 2022. He left the show after two years to lead ‘The Facility’ with McCoy and James Jones.

The network handed Speak to Joy Taylor, who ran the show with retired players Keyshawn Johnson (NFL) and Paul Pierce (NBA). FOX Sports canceled this one as well. They also vaulted Craig Carton’s Breakfast Ball.
Only two football-related shows remain on air on the FS1 channel: Nick Wright’s First Things First and Colin Cowherd’s The Herd.

The decision comes as part of a series of moves that will also see the network’s cable arm, FS1, cancel “Speak,” the show Taylor co-hosts, as well as its two morning programs.

Why did FOX Sports cut Emmanuel Acho and end The Facility?
It took place so suddenly that fans are still trying to deduce the reason behind the string of firings. Acho made his name as a sound debater and an analyst. The Facility, with its star-studded lineup, seemed destined to challenge their counterparts on ESPN and CBS. However, behind the curtains, it was a mess.

According to USTV ratings, Acho’s show hasn’t generated enough views recently. They averaged just over 20,000 views, and only 10,000 people viewed the June 10th episode. ESPN’s First Take, on the other hand, had a steady viewership of more than 160,000. The May 15th episode garnered a viewership of 529,000.
The viewership aside, a couple of months ago, Acho, Taylor, and a couple of others found themselves under the radar after ex-FS1 employee Noushin Faraji filed a lawsuit.
A few of Acho’s old tweets about Taylor resurfaced. At first glance, they appeared to be harmless and congratulatory. However, the lawsuit brought a new context to these tweets.
Happy Birthday to my brilliant co host, my homie and my friend @JoyTaylorTalks! It’s a pleasure and honor to work with you daily.

Faraji alleged that Taylor engaged in amorous activities with several of her colleagues to climb the ladder in the business. One of them was Acho. However, the biggest name in the suit was that of Fox Sports executive, Charlie Dixon.
Dixon, according to Faraji, tried to take advantage by grabbing her buttocks at a birthday party, and Taylor told her to ‘get over it.’ She further alleged that former colleague Skip Bayless offered her $1.5 million to sleep with him.
The lawsuit angle faded as quickly as it had emerged, seemingly brushed aside until the mass firings on Monday. Acho’s message following his contract termination suggested that something significant may be forthcoming.
