Shedeur Sanders and his Cleveland Browns teammates will now listen to new head coach Todd Monken. That development became a major topic of discussion with Emmanuel Acho and his cast of Speakeasy debating whether it was the right move.

They may have gone with the logic of having an experienced hand leading them and using his creativity on offense, as he displayed with the Baltimore Ravens, to unlock the next level of performance.

This announcement, though, did not garner approval ratings, as many in Cleveland and across the media landscape have been baffled by the thought that the Browns looked past many highly-touted prospects to settle on Monken.

Any expectation for Shedeur Sanders under Todd Monken will lead to disappointment. There is nothing about Monken as a head coach that should get you excited… If I’m Shedeur, why am I listening to Todd Monken? What have you won on an NFL level as a head coach?

Emmanuel Acho said on Speakeasy

Essentially, the former linebacker suggested that Shedeur Sanders should not be listening to his new head coach just because the latter has no experience as a head coach and has not accomplished anything.

Even someone who is a fan of Emmanuel Acho’s opinions would think that this would be something absurd to say to a player who is about to start working with his next coach.

Fans tear into Emmanuel Acho for bizarre advice to Shedeur Sanders

Those who are neutral to Emmanuel Acho’s bizarre takes would find it amusing that he would suggest a player, who is a fifth-round pick and is not in a position to make demands to the ownership, to seemingly boycott his head coach.

Then there were others who felt that the 35-year-old, who never played enough meaningful snaps in the NFL, was giving the worst advice one should give to a young athlete. Examples of those outrageous reactions are below.

Emmanuel Acho has a history of giving bizarre opinions during his time with FS1. But that did not diminish his reputation as much as the scandal he and former colleague Joy Taylor were involved in.

Now, he and LeSean McCoy were trying to build separate careers with Speakeasy. The latter has also been borderline bizarre recently, but Acho’s suggestion to Shedeur Sanders might tilt them over the edge. After all, they have too much riding on their investment.

Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy bought out FS1

After that scandal blew up in public, Joy Taylor and Emmanuel Acho tried to continue with their respective shows on FS1. Then, the network’s parent, FOX Sports, decided to cancel Speak, which Taylor was hosting, The Facility, which Acho hosted, and Breakfast Ball.

The network had already lost its prime show, Undisputed, after Skip Bayless left, once it became evident that Shannon Sharpe‘s departure was a disaster.

They expanded the time slot for Nick Wright‘s First Things First, but shifted it back to FOX Sports. After collaborating with Dave Portnoy‘s Barstool Sports, the network felt that FS1 had run its course.

In light of this bizarre opinion on how Shedeur Sanders should behave with Todd Monken, many fans started to realize that Acho and McCoy had bought out Undisputed’s social media channels from FS1.

That is why fans were just coming to grips as to why a show that started four months ago had 2.61 million subscribers on YouTube, and more than 500K subscribers on X.
