Emmanuel Acho wants the Tennessee Titans general manager, Mike Borgonzi, to approach the 2025 NFL draft keeping the franchise’s long-term future on the mind. The former NFL linebacker advised the Titans to draft Shedeur Sanders, which will open the door to Deion Sanders.

The Titans pick first in the draft, followed by the Cleveland Browns, the New York Giants, and the New England Patriots. At present, the Titans are favorites to draft Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

However, FS1, The Facility’s host Emmanuel Acho, threw in Shedeur Sanders’ name in the hat for the Titans to select instead of Ward. From Acho’s point of view, the 23-year-old Sanders cemented himself as a winner for every team he represented. Whether it was at Jackson State or at Colorado, Sanders created a buzz like no other.

I would take Shedeur Sanders to make sure that I have the first stab at getting Deion Sanders as my next head coach in Tennessee, assuming [Brian] Callahan does not work out… If you get Shedeur and you get Prime, you completely revolutionize the whole NFL as it pertains to the Tennessee Titans. That’s why I’m going for Shedeur.

Acho also argued that the credit for Sanders’ success in college belongs to his dad and mentor, Deion Sanders.

It will be tough to acquire Deion Sanders even if the Titans draft Shedeur Sanders

The college football scene changed for the better after the Sanders family moved from Jackson State to Colorado in 2023. Coach Prime put the Buffaloes on the map, attracting talents across the country.

Despite an underwhelming first year, the Buffs nearly reached the finals of the BIG 12 Conference championship by finishing 9-4 in his second season. The improvement didn’t go unnoticed by NFL teams.

As Shedeur Sanders’ time in college ended, NFL teams thought the Hall of Famer would accompany his son to make the switch. However, their assumption was incorrect.

In an interview with ABC News, Deion Sanders revealed he had zero intention of following Shedeur to the NFL.

I don’t follow my kids [Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders]; I pave roads for my kids; I build generational wealth for my kids; I lead my kids [but] I don’t follow my kids. So, I do not plan on following my kids to the NFL. I have work to do here [in Colorado].

The 57-year-old added that he loves working in Colorado. The fanbase and the culture are among the various reasons he doesn’t want to leave the team just yet.

His allegiance was tested earlier this year after the 2024 NFL season concluded. The Dallas Cowboys fired their head coach, and owner Jerry Jones tried his best to lure the former Cowboy to take over as the head coach. Sanders refused to leave.

Later Sanders revealed he will only coach in the NFL under one condition.

You know what? The only way I would consider [an NFL team] it is to coach my sons.

Deion Sanders signed a mammoth contract extension with Colorado

Tennessee must up their game if they ever wish to lure Deion Sanders away from Colorado because the Buffs just tied him down to a five-year, $54 million contract, making him the BIG 12’s highest-paid coach.

The University of Colorado did the right thing. Sanders’ impact on the program is monumental. According to the university’s website, the Buffaloes’ home games contributed $146 million to the area’s economy. The school also saw a 20% increase in student enrollment.

Sanders went to work very early to acquire a suitable replacement at the quarterback spot. Former Liberty quarterback, senior Kaidon Salter, signed for the Buffaloes and is likely to replace Shedeur as the starter.

In 2023, he led the Flames to a 12-0 regular season record. Liberty defeated the New Mexico State Aggies 49-35 in the Conference USA championship. Salter threw 5,887 yards, 56 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions during his four-year stay with the Flames.
