After the win against Lulu Sun, she was extremely emotional in her on-court interview and was at a loss for words. She credited her opponent and also gave an insight into how she was feeling during the match.

Vekic will now take on either Jasmine Paolini or Emma Navarro. Paolini has had a season to remember, with a maiden Grand Slam final appearance at Roland Garros and a WTA 1000 title in Dubai. Navarro has also had a strong year, marked by over 30 wins across tournaments so far.
