International Friendlies: England vs Switzerland Player Ratings as England get a slender 2-1 victory

England vs Switzerland: England squared off against Switzerland at the Wembley Stadium in an international friendly match

Switzerland had a better 1st half with them dominating the ball and the match with respect to everything and rightly so they scored the opening goal with a header from Breel Embolo. In the stoppage time of the 1st half, England were able to equalize with a superb strike from Luke Shaw.

In the 2nd half, England raised the tempo of the game and rightly so played some good football. England got a penalty due to a handball and Harry Kane fired it home to get the lead. The match ended 2-1 at full time.

Jordan Pickford (6.2/10): The goalkeeper had a busy game tonight making some good saves but was scored passed once by Swiss.

Conor Coady (6.2/10): The centre-back was pretty much solid in the backline apart from from a few situations. He made a few blocks and challenges.

Marc Guehi (6.2/10): The defender also had a pretty similar performance making a few good blocks and interceptions and making a few progressive passes.

Ben White (6.2/10): The centre-back had some nervy moments but was fairly solid in the defence throughout the match.

Conor Gallagher (6.8/10): The midfielder was very good on the ball tonight making some good passes. He assisted the goal for England.

Jordan Henderson (6.3/10): The midfielder was decent in his performance making some important interceptions and passing combinations to control the tempo in the midfield.

Luke Shaw (7.2/10): The left wing-back was on target tonight as he scored the goal for England and was also fairly involved in the whole game as well.

Kyle Walker-Peters (6.5/10): The right wing-back was good tonight making some important tackles and interceptions. He also made a few good passes as well.

Harry Kane (7/10): The striker was not at his best tonight but did make some movements and runs and tried to make some things happen. He scored the penalty which actually became the winning goal of the match.

Mason Mount (6.4/10): The attacking midfielder had a decent performance tonight making some good passes and also getting into good areas.

Phil Foden (6.4/10): The attacking midfielder also had a similar performance making some good passes and making some runs into attacking areas.

Declan Rice (5/10): He could not do much apart from a few passes and interceptions to help the team keep the lead.

Tyrick Mitchell (4.5/10): He had to face some difficult moments after coming on as a sub on the left flank but did well to deal with it.

Raheem Sterling (5.2/10): He got involved in the game a lot after coming in making some good passes and also getting into attacking areas.

Jack Grealish (4.8/10): He also got involved sometimes with the ball making some runs and passes as well.

Jonas Omlin (6/10): Switzerland goalkeeper was not troubled as much as his counterpart but did have to make a few saves and was scored passed twice, once from penalty spot

Fabian Frei (6.2/10): The centre-back had a solid performance tonight making some good blocks and stops to keep the English attack out.

Manuel Akanji (6.2/10): The centre-back was solid in the defence making some good interceptions and tackles to win the ball and also a few good passes.

Ricardo Rodríguez (6.3/10): The left-back had some nervy moments but dealt with them well and made some good tackles and runs as well.

Silvan Widmer (5.2/10): The right-back did not play for long and had to be substituted following an injury.

Xherdan Shaqiri (6.8/10): The attacking midfielder was good on the ball specially in the 1st half making some good passes and providing the assist for the goal.

Granit Xhaka (6.4/10): The midfielder had a fairly decent performance making some good passes and interceptions and carrying the ball well.

Remo Freuler (6.2/10): The midfielder made a few good passes and combinations and also tried to create a few chances.

Breel Embolo (7.2/10): The forward had a very good game as he scored the opening goal with a fantastic header. He also got a few other chances as well.

Ruben Vargas (6/10): The winger tried to create some things and made some runs but without much effect.

Renato Steffen (6/10): The winger also had a similar performance as he tried to create opportunities but could not do much.
