A glance at Argentina’s journey in the Copa America 2024
Argentina grabbed their 16th Copa America title with a thrilling win over Colombia in a clash that saw the embers flying extremely late. They had a fine tournament overall which saw them starting the fray with a 2-0 win over Canada in the curtain-raiser.
They followed it up with another narrow win against Chile while flying past Peru comfortably enough to sail into the quarter-finals undefeated. Ecuador did try and push them to the hinges but eventually when the tie-breaker was invoked, Argentina managed to book their semi-final berth.
In the semis, the Men in Blue and Whites brushed aside Canada by 2-0 before locking horns with Colombia. It was in the 112th minute that Lautaro Martinez found himself latching onto an impeccable delivery from Giovani Lo Celso to hammer home the winning goal.
