Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite, has raised $36 million to help Ukraine

The makers of the famous online video game Fortnite earned more than $36 million in a single day after promising to donate all proceeds from the game’s latest version to aid humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Epic Games said on Sunday that all revenues from Fortnite sales from that day through April 3 would be donated to “humanitarian relief for anyone affected by the Ukraine conflict.”
According to their announcement, Xbox will donate all of its net revenues during this time period. Because the corporation released the current version of their best-selling game on that day, the choice of the sales window is essential.

Fortnite raising money for Ukraine relief mission

The company announced a day later that it had already raised $36 million in the United States. UNICEF, UNHCR, Direct Relief, and the United Nations World Food Program are among the humanitarian relief agencies that will benefit from the earnings. Retailers of video games demonstrate their support for Ukraine. Epic Game Fortnite isn’t the only game company contributing money for humanitarian help in Ukraine.
On March 18, Humble Bundle, a digital video game store, started a one-week fundraising campaign to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. The project has raised nearly $14 million, according to its website.
In addition, an itch.io fundraiser that ended on March 18 raised over $6 million. Itch.io is a website that allows users to host, sell, and download indie games.
