Steve Tisch went from being a hero for the New York Giants to a villain within a few days. The owner of the Big Apple franchise is facing scrutiny after his name appeared multiple times in the latest revelations from the notorious Epstein Files.
A report from The Athletic, later echoed by ESPN, states that Tisch’s name appears 440 times in the documents. The report mentions that Tisch exchanged emails with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein starting in 2013.
In one of the earliest email messages sent (in April 2013) to Epstein from Tisch, the 76-year-old tried to hook up with someone named Katya. Although the report states the name, it provides very few details about the person named Katya.
Epstein receives a reply from Katya.
Ok, Jeffrey, I’ll be in blue loose pants and a white loose shirt. I googled Steve Tisch, he is oscar winner producer, and the Giants owner. I’d love to meet him. My phone number is [redacted].
Katya wrote
Epstein, like a mediator, forwards the message to Tisch, who says he will be in New York and then Boston, and proposes a meeting. Tisch notes that the gathering never took place.

In another instance, Tisch writes about meeting Epstein’s assistant, a “Ukrainian Girl.” Epstein promises to set him up with her, but the girl freaks out after discovering the age gap between her and the producer of Forrest Gump.

Steve Tisch reacts to his name appearing in the Epstein Files
It didn’t take long for Tisch to react to the report. He admitted to contacting Epstein via email in the early to mid-2010s but denied ever setting foot on his island or engaging in any non-conjugal activities.

Tisch revealed via Jordan Raanan of ESPN,
We [Tisch and Epstein] had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments. I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with.

How involved was Steve Tisch in the Giants’ search for a new head coach?
Brian Daboll didn’t get the chance to finish the 2025 season as the head coach of the Giants. The owners decided to relieve him of duties. Mike Kafka took control of the sinking ship until the final week.
Shortly after week 18, the higher-ups in East Rutherford, New Jersey, sprang into action, launching a search for a head coach to guide the team into a new era. Several names were considered for the job.
John Harbaugh became the obvious name. He was on the job market after 18 years of managing in Baltimore.
Despite facing stiff competition from Vegas, the Mara (John Mara) and Tisch families managed to woo the Super Bowl winner to take the head coaching job of the G-Men. Harbaugh arrived in New York boasting 193 career wins, including 180 in the regular season—more than Bill Parcells, Tom Coughlin, Tony Dungy, Bill Cowher, and Mike Holmgren.
A big factor in Harbaugh accepting the offer ended up being quarterback Jaxson Dart. The 2025 first-round draft pick was reportedly present when Harbaugh visited the Giants facility prior to his hiring. During his inaugural press conference, Harbaugh praised the signal caller who attended the University of Mississippi.
The Giants wrapped up last season with a 4-13 record and now hold the fifth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen’s first priority will be to land a key player in the mold of Abdul Carter.
