The Viking Raiders, comprising Erik and Ivar, were one of the top tag teams during their time in NXT. Although the duo never re-lived that glory on the main roster, they were still a staple of the Monday night raw roster. Both superstars are currently absent from WWE programming due to medical issues, with the 39-year-old recently sharing a heart-touching update.

Erik, real name Raymond Rowe, shared an Instagram post of a collage with a few of his photos. This post was made exactly ten years after he got into a motorcycle accident on 12th August 2014. He said in the caption that it was a miracle he didn’t pass away in the motorcycle wreck. Regardless, doctors told him that he would never wrestle again afterwards.

On the day of the post, 12th August 2024, Rowe has a beautiful family. He shared photos of himself alongside his wife and his kid. The 39-year-old is married to professional wrestler Sarah Logan, who plays Valhalla alongside the Viking Raiders. Furthermore, he claimed to be a full-time Viking, both in and out of the ring.

The post showed the Raw superstar on his hospital bed shortly after his accident with his X-ray. In sharp contrast, the last photo of the collage featured the Viking Raiders walking down the WrestleMania 39 ramp to perform in front of nearly 80,000 people. On the day he thought he had passed away, it was possible for him to imagine that his future life could be so wonderful.

What happened to Erik’s Viking Raiders teammate, Ivar?

Shortly after Erik disappeared from WWE programming due to a neck injury, his teammate, Ivar, was given a singles push on the main roster. He had worked a great match against Kofi Kingston on Raw, which led to Triple H giving him a chance as a singles superstar.

Ivar put on incredible matches against members of the Raw roster. He was insanely agile for a man his size and had a hard-hitting style, which the fans really loved. WWE eventually sent him down to NXT without his Viking gimmick. He was being built up as a threat to the NXT North American Championship and Oba Femi.

However, just a few weeks after appearing on NXT, the formerly-known Viking Experience member also had to be sidelined due to a serious injury. The nature of his injury is not fully known. As of his last update, he has not undergone any surgery. However, there are rumors that this injury could potentially be career-ending for the 40-year-old.
