Erik ten Hag has been nothing short of controversial at Manchester United. The Dutchman’s time at Old Trafford has been far from unproblematic, with his tenure at the club having mixed reviews among fans, players, and pundits alike. Recently, the manager hit out against Premier League legend Alan Shearer, criticizing his analysis of Marcus Rashford.

Rashford is yet to get on the scoresheet this term despite starting both of United’s League games. The player was also taken off after 65 minutes in United’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton a few days back. Shearer claimed that Rashford hasn’t been up to his level and that Ruud van Nistelrooy will have to work his magic into the squad.

Everyone gets criticism from you guys. I was very happy with Rashy against Fulham, against Brighton and in this case, stupid analysis by the pundit.

The Red Devils take on Liverpool on Sunday in that will be their ‘biggest’ game of the season yet.

Manchester United finally offload Jadon Sancho to Chelsea on loan

Manchester United have finally found a way to offload Jadon Sancho from the club. Although Chelsea have signed the player on loan and United will have to pay a significant part of his wages, fans are of the opinion that the deal benefits both parties. The move came as a surprise given the fact that reports linked him with a confirmed move to Serie A giants Juventus.

It is also reported that the clubs have incorporated an obligation to buy clause if certain thresholds are met. As deadline day kicks off in full swing, the 24-year-old has joined the Blues on a season-long loan. It is understood that the Red Devils will pocket a sum in the region of £20-£25 million for the move.

After signing Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a hefty fee of £73 million, it is unfortunate that Sancho’s value has dropped so drastically. After back-to-back loan moves, it is clear that Sancho does not have a future at Old Trafford. David Ornstein reports that the Englishman has been purchased with the plan of deploying him primarily on the left flank.
