Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has a gargantuan task at hand against Manchester City on Saturday. The Red Devils are set to take on local rivals and Premier League champions City in the FA Cup semi-final. Many consider the game on Saturday to be Ten Hag’s last and final chance to convince Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS management.

As City appear to be clear favorites for the tie, fans couldn’t help but wonder if the final on Saturday will be Ten Hag’s last game in charge of the Red Devils. In addition to a poor record this season, Ten Hag’s men have finished at an all-time low of 8th in the League table. When asked about the final potentially being his last game, the Dutchman opted to remain silent.

I have nothing to say. We're focusing on first winning the game and then keep going on with the project.
Erik ten Hag said in a press conference

The manager also added that his focus will be on transfers too, but only after the game vs. City. A win in the final will prevent the Red Devils from going trophyless yet again.

Man United representatives hold talks with Ipswich Town manager right before FA Cup final!

Erik Ten Hag‘s position may very well be up for grabs in the coming days. Despite repeated admissions from the Dutchman that he wasn’t worried about losing his position at the club, recent reports have called for concern both within and outside the club. As per several reports, United representatives have held talks with Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna!

Several fans expressed their concern as to how this information may negatively affect both Ten Hag’s and the team’s performance against City. Others criticized the management for letting out such news at such a crucial point in their season. In addition to McKenna, former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has also been tipped for the Manchester United job.

To make things more ‘confusing’, United haven’t yet decided whether they are going to stick on to Ten Hag or bring in a new manager. Ten Hag alone is not deserving of all the blame, given the club’s internal crises and unfortunate injury record. With 45 separate cases of injury, United are the club with the most reported injuries this season.
