Paris Saint-Germain made the visit to Signal Iduna Park to take on hosts Borussia Dortmund in the second semi-final of the UEFA Champions League. The game on Wednesday night saw the hosts go all in from the first minute, with the Parisiens often visibly struggling to keep up with their pace. An electrifying encounter ended 1-0 in favor of Dortmund.
While Dortmund players were clearly a step ‘above’ their opposition, former Manchester United man Jadon Sancho was one of their best players. From his flashy dribbles to confident take-on and crosses, fans saw a version of the Englishman that they hoped to at Old Trafford.
A quick look back at his time with the Red Devils brought the ‘conflict’ between him and Erik ten Hag to the forefront. Sancho, after failing to ‘reconcile’ things with Ten Hag, was exiled from the squad and eventually forced to leave to Dortmund.
His stunning performance vs PSG made many rethink whether Ten Hag was in fact in the wrong to sell Sancho!
Fans react to Jadon Sancho’s stunning performance vs PSG
Former United man and Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho was at his very best as he ran circles around the PSG defense on Wednesday night. After Sancho’s praiseworthy outing, a fan commented that Erik ten Hag was truly ‘bad’ at coaching for making Sancho play the worst football on display. Others prayed for him to be gone from the club as soon as possible.
Fans laughed at how Ten Hag must be annoyed at Sancho thriving at another club. Some said it was high time that the United management got rid of his poor tactics.
However, a fan claimed that if anything, Sancho’s performance proved that he didn’t want to play for Ten Hag. Immediately, comparisons began between existing United players.
A fan said that Marcus Rashford should’ve been sold instead of Jadon Sancho. Surprisingly, Sancho is the only ‘United’ player to go this far in the UCL this season.
Many were amused at Sancho’s luck to leave Old Trafford at the ‘right’ time and that he may even win the Champions League! However, many pointed to his numbers and said that 3 goals and an assist in all competitions wasn’t that impressive.
