Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag‘s tenure at the club has been anything but impressive. The former Ajax manager has failed to replicate his success with Ajax and has been a shadow of his former self at Old Trafford.

The Premier League season comes nears its end, and United find themselves firmly seated in sixth, with 54 points from 34 games. As pressure mounts on the manager and rumors surrounding his sacking and dismissal circulate in the air, the Dutchman has come forward to voice his intentions.

I assume that I'll be Manchester United manager next year. I signed a long term deal consciously and I'm not a person who walks away.
Erik ten Hag said in a press conference

The manager’s bold statement comes at a time when the club is reportedly reviewing his spell. Ten Hag is also hopeful that he can return to Ajax at some point in the future. He made sure to claim that he thoroughly enjoyed his success in Eredivisie and assured that he intends to do the same in the Premier League.

Man United owner labels Carrington a ‘disgrace’ after visit

It is no secret that Manchester United as a club is in for a massive restructuring following the take-over by billionaire and INEOS chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The businessman has assured to bring the club to it’s former levels of glory while also focusing on infrastructure and development. However, his recent visit to the club’s training ground did not elicit a favorable response.

As per several reports, the new owner sent an e-mail to members of the staff citing the untidiness at the training ground. In particular, Ratcliffe was disappointed with the IT department and the academy changing rooms in particular. Ratcliffe is personally holding audits in the various wings of the club, following which he communicated his dissatisfaction with the club’s facilities.

As part of his take-over, Ratcliffe has appointed both Dave Brailsford and Omar Berrada with the latter starting as CEO in the summer. Dan Ashworth has been appointed as the new sporting director. With all the changes being made at the club, fans can’t help but wonder if Erik ten Hag will be at the club next season.
