Manchester United were thoroughly humiliated by rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League in late September. The Red Devils conceded three painful goals at home to Spurs as Bruno Fernandes was sent off minutes before the first half ended. Even though the hosts were trailing 1-0 at the time of the red card, Erik ten Hag has now used it as an excuse to ‘ignore’ the loss.

Following the game, United chose to appeal the decision and ended up overturning the same in their favor. That being said, the decision in no way impacts United’s point tally in the Premier League. United are enduring the worst start to a League season in recent history, and have only racked up 11 points from their first eight games.

I deny and ignore that Spurs game because the red card was overturned. We weren’t given a chance to bounce back.

United recently dropped points in their Europa League game against Fenerbahce in a fiery 1-1 draw.

Manchester United step up their pursuit of Bayern Munich star

Bayern Munich full back and Canadian International Alphonso Davies is one of the best in his position in the game. The 23-year-old has entered the final year of his contract at the club and rumors claim that talks of an extension are ‘stalling’. The player has caught the eye of Manchester United, with the club reportedly stepping up their interest to sign the player.

Even though Davies’ contract situation has attracted interest from clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona, United feel that competing for the player’s signature is possible. Even though the Los Blancos are still favorites to bring him in when his contract expires next summer, the Red Devils have also started doing good business since the INEOS takeover.

United also have their eyes on Bayern ‘target’ and Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah. With less than 12 months left on his contract, the player is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with any team of his liking. With the precarious situation in United’s defensive department, bringing in a Bundesliga champion will only further the club’s chances of competing with the best.
