Manchester United failed to find the net as they took on Unai Emery‘s men at Villa Park. Fans were wary of the fixture given the fact that Villa claimed an emphatic win over German giants Bayern Munich a few days prior to the match-up. However, despite United’s regrettable run of form, the club hung on to a 0-0 draw. However, many fans claimed that the result may not be enough for Erik ten Hag to avoid the sack.
Both sides enjoyed their fair share of chances, and in the end, it came down to which goalkeeper refused to be beaten. The answer was neither as both Emiliano Martinez and Andre Onana made some brilliant saves throughout the 90 minutes played. The former kept out a blistering strike from Marcus Rashford and also made sure that the opposition didn’t keep up their momentum with his antics and time wasting ‘tactics’.
What surprised fans the most was that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, CEO Omar Berrada and several other sporting and technical directors were in attendance for the game. There is mounting pressure on the manager to bring the club back to winning ways.
However, he stated that this is the fourth clean sheet for the club and that it points to defensive organization and stability.
Fans react to Manchester United’s frustrating draw to Villa
Several United fans were wary going into the game against Villa given the fact that Unai Emery sent a chilling warning ahead of the game. However, Erik ten Hag‘s men avoided embarrassment as they held on to a 0-0 draw. That being said, there were several moments during the game that exposed the tensions between the players and the manager.

For starters, several fans commented that Rashford said ‘he’s gone mad’ under his breath after being subbed off for Antony. In an angry rant, former United man Dimitar Berbatov said that the players should be ashamed and that Jonny Evans was their ‘best’ player. A fan joked that the club has already prepared the sack letter for the manager.
Reports claim that the game against Brentford will be a ‘do or die’ situation for the manager. Contrastingly, it can also be that the club management came to see the game as a display of support for the tactician. As things stand, Manchester United have dropped down to the bottom half of the table and are 14th with just 8 points from 7 games.
