Manchester United are slated to engage with Southampton in an all-important Premier League clash as two losses on the trot has pushed them to the backfoot. Especially after suffering a hefty drubbing at the hands of Liverpool in Old Trafford, the Red Devils alongside their gaffer, Erik ten Hag, has come under serious fire.
Despite a winning start to the season with a victory against Fulham, Manchester United went down against Brighton in the second game while being hammered by Liverpool in the third. The kind of errors that were made against Liverpool in Old Trafford sparked some serious questions about Erik ten Hag‘s future at Old Trafford. However, with all of that being said, ten Hag has made it clear that he is not bothered by the external noise.
It doesn’t impact me, I know in the process where we are. We are still in a transition process, we have to integrate a lot of young players. We still have to deal with injuries and have to bring players back into the team. Before anyone thinks about excuses, no, we have to win every game. I know that.Erik ten Hag said in the pre-match presser
ETH had another burning issue to address in the form of Manuel Ugarte, United’s latest signing. He earlier said that the latter is not in game fitness to be a part of the Premier League fixtures and it will take him time to get into shape. However, after the howlers committed by Casemiro in the last game and the two games played by the Uruguayan midfielder in the international break, ETH has confirmed that Ugarte will be available for selection for the upcoming game.
Premier League is set to roll with another blockbuster weekend
It is going to be a jampacked weekend in the Premier League as the teams return from the international break. The week will be starting with a clash between the Saints and the Red Devils while Liverpool will be in action later against Nottingham Forest.
Manchester City will be playing Brentford in another important fixture while Fulham will be locking horns against West Ham amidst the many crucial clashes on Saturday. Sunday will stay witness to a battle between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal which can very well be the highlight of the weekend.
Manchester City sits comfortably at the top with three thumping victories from the three games that they have played while Liverpool is on level pegging in terms of points. Brighton who beat Manchester United in the second week has also done a decent job so far as they are currently in the third place after eking out an important stalemate against Arsenal.
