Goals, goals and more goals! Erling Haaland proved why he’s one of the best strikers on the planet as he bagged a spectacular hat-trick in the Nations League. The Norwegian powerhouse helped his side claim a 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan. Following the victory, Haaland took to social media as he flaunted yet another match ball.

The Manchester City forward was coming off the back of a 4-1 win over Slovenia, in which he both scored and assisted. Amidst increasing comparisons with Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres, the No. 9’s hat-trick gave reason for fans to celebrate. His first goal of the night came in the 23rd minute, when a goalkeeper save comfortably landed at his feet.

Antonio Nusa went on to set up Haaland for a headed finish for his second, before a driven shot into the bottom left corner with his weaker foot saw him complete his hat-trick.

With his three goals, Haaland is now the all-time top scorer in the Nations League with 19 goals. As things stand, Norway are top of Group 3 in League B.

A fan commented that Erling Haaland should never be compared to Viktor Gyokeres, despite the latter being superior on top in recent games. Observing how Haaland has managed to outscore the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku, fans were thoroughly impressed with the forward.

In response, fans found that almost all of his goals have come against sides that are ranked much lower. A supporter jokingly added that he is following in the footsteps of Ronaldo, scoring hat-tricks against Northern Ireland and Romania. With 38 goals in 39 appearances for his country, a fan was convinced that he’ll eventually break all the records held by Ronaldo.

The Norwegian striker also leads the goal scoring charts in the Premier League with 12 goals. City are in desperate need for the 24-year-old to step up, given the poor run of form they are in. Haaland could not prevent his side from losing four consecutive games in all competitions, ending with a 2-1 loss to Brighton in which he scored the only goal for his team.
