Manchester City forward Erling Haaland hilariously mocked Norwegian skipper Martin Odegaard, while on international duty for the upcoming matches. The 24-year-old forward has been named the captain for the national team, in the Arsenal star’s absence due to an injury.
Martin Odegaard suffered an injury while on international duty with Norway, last month, and is expected to be out for the next few months. He has suffered an ankle ligament injury, and faces a significant spell on the sidelines for both club and country. In the Norwegian skipper’s absence, star forward Erling Haaland has been handed the captain’s armband for the national team’s upcoming matches against Slovenia and Austria in the UEFA Nations League.
Taking a dig at an injured Arsenal star, Haaland shared a video of a phone call with the Arsenal star, where he seemed to jokingly ask him whether the Gunners would ever win the UEFA Champions League title. Moreover, he later spoke to reporters about his new role as well as on Odegaard’s absence. He exclaimed that the team would miss their captain, highlighting his amazing nature as well as his brilliant footballing skills. He added that the team would try to succeed without their skipper.

Erling Haaland speaks out on ball-throwing incident during Arsenal vs. Manchester City match
Erling Haaland opened up on his altercation with Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes, during a 2-2 draw between the two sides at the Etihad Stadium, last month. The forward was at the center of a huge bust up, as he threw the ball at the Arsenal defender after John Stones‘ later equalizer.
When asked about the incident recently, Haaland responded by stating that his action was in the heat of the match and a lot of other things also happened during the match. He also added that such things are quite common on the football pitch, and he does not regret any of the things that he had done. Apart from haaland’s ball-throwing incident, the match between Arsenal and Man City also included a number of other incidents, including one involving manager Mikel Arteta and Haaland, during the post-match handshakes.
