Erling Haaland is one of the most clinical and lethal finishers in the game. Several hundreds of goals coupled with an unbelievable trophy cabinet at just 24 years of age is nothing short of extraordinary. However, the Norwegian beast is also prone to mistakes, as a recent typo made by the Manchester City No.9 went viral on social media.
Pep Guardiola and co. are currently in the United States as they prepare to play their third game of the pre-season. Their next game is up against familiar rivals in FC Barcelona, who they take on at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Ahead of the fixture, Erling Haaland took to Instagram, as he posted a story with the caption ‘Ornaldo Next’.
It didn’t take long for the player to realize his mistake, as he followed up the story with another. He sarcastically apologized to ‘all the perfect brothers and sisters out there’ as he lamented about not being able to make a single mistake in this ‘perfect’ world.
That being said, Haaland and co. are on a losing streak and will look to set things straight against Hansi Flick‘s Barcelona.
Pep Guardiola responds to star man Erling Haaland’s rant about player fatigue
Professional footballers in the top flight are required to play close to 70 games a year! Playing such a high number of games year after year is bound to cause repercussions, with player fatigue and recurring injuries being the start of the list. Manchester City‘s beloved No.9 went on a rant about the same, as he touched on topics like excessive games in a season and what can be done to fix this.
We all saw how tired everyone was at the Euros. Some won't even get a long vacation and it will be the same this season. If that's the way we're going now, we can't be sharp in every single game.Erling Haaland told the press
Despite a rocky start to pre-season, Guardiola appeared composed when quizzed about his No.9’s concerns. Even though he outright denied the possibility of finding a ‘solution’ for the same, Guardiola claimed that clubs have to adapt to the same.
The Spaniard continued that it has become necessary for clubs to travel around the world and publicize their brand to every single community. He added that this phenomenon has been a thing for the last six or seven years and that it is impractical to cancel out any single tournament from the sport.
