Manchester City striker Erling Haaland most recently penned a new long-term deal at the club, which is set to tie him down at the Etihad until the summer of 2034. The 23-year-old star forward has signed a 9.5-year contract at the club, worth around £260 million.

Erling Haaland had joined Manchester City back in 2022 from Dortmund. He has since then remained a pivotal part of the club, winning two EPL titles, a Club World Cup, and a UCL title. The Norwegian forward has scored 111 goals in 126 appearances, putting him sixth on the list of Man City’s all-time top scorers.

The 23-year-old also won the EPL Player of the Year and the UEFA Best Men’s Player in his maiden season at Man City. This season as well, Haaland has scored 16 goals, second only behind Mohamed Salah. The ex-Dortmund man has signed a new nine-and-a-half-year deal at the club, until 2034.

The length of Haaland’s deal is the longest active contract in the EPL, eclipsing Chelsea star Cole Palmer’s nine-year deal. He is set to earn a whopping £500,000 per week, adding up to around £26 million per season. This makes him the Premier League’s highest-earning player right now, eclipsing teammate Kevin De Bruyne. His renewal comes at a time when Man City are facing a massive dip in form.

Moreover, Haaland’s new contract is also expected to squash exit rumors, linking the 23-year-old with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid. It would definitely help him focus on getting Manchester City back on track, as well as improve his own form.

Manchester City close in on signing Omar Marmoush despite Erling Haaland renewal

Manchester City have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush. Cityzens are ready to spend up to £50 million for the Egyptian forward. It is despite the club having recently renewed striker Erling Haaland’s contract.

City have been busy during the ongoing January transfer window and are en route to signing four new players. It would be a necessary reinforcement for Pep Guardiola’s side, who have fallen out of the EPL title race this season. Marmoush is expected to provide cover for the misfiring Haaland. The 25-year-old has recorded a staggering 33 goal contributions in 26 matches this season.

Apart from the Egyptian forward, the club has also agreed on two major defensive signings. Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis and Lens center-back Abdukodir Khusanov are the two new arrivals. Meanwhile, City are also interested in Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso
