CJ Stroud was heartbroken by the injury. In his post-match presser, the Texans quarterback left everything to the almighty to take care of his brother-like teammate.
Who will replace Tank Dell in the Texans’ roster?
The Texans have been hit with bad injury news throughout the season. Receiver Nico Collins missed key fixtures at the beginning of the season, and veteran pro bowler Stefon Diggs’ season ended after eight games due to a torn ACL.
Collins may be back, but DeMeco Ryans’ Texans needed a player to cover for the injured Tank Dell. They swiftly moved to sign the recently waived Diontae Johnson.
Johnson is now on his third team in the last calendar year after starting the season with the Carolina Panthers. According to reports, the Los Angeles Chargers also looked at bringing the former third-round receiver in, but the Texans showed more urgency. Johnson caught 31 passes for 363 yards and scored three touchdowns in 2024.
As for Tank Dell, he appeared in all fifteen games for the Texans. He logged 51 catches for 667 yards and 3 touchdowns.
