Final Fantasy VII

Developed by Square, this role playing game made specifically for the PlayStation consoles is certainly one of the games that packs a mean punch. Considering the game’s length, it contains numerous bosses that you must defeat. However, one boss in particular stands out – The Emerald Weapon.

The Emerald Weapon in Final Fantasy VII is one of the toughest bosses to beat in the game. Not due to his enormous health bar though. It is one of the most difficult bosses to beat as it also comes with a time limit to beat it.

An underwater fight which can last not a second longer than 20 minutes and needs you to finish off a boss which has a million health points for you to take out, is certainly a challenging endeavor.

Destiny

This open world action-survival game is developed by Bungie and is an online-only multiplayer first person shooter. In Destiny, you, the player, are tasked with protecting the Earth from several different alien races.

You are a part of an elite army made specially for the defense of the Earth against several different extra terrestrial races, namely, “The Guardians”. Guardians are known to wield the power of light and use it to preserve Earth’s last safe city.

As you progress into the game and follow along the storyline, and manage to to get through the Gorgons Labyrinth without being spotted, and on to the “Vault of Glass”, you shall have no choice but to face the wrath of Antheon! One of the most formidable foes in the game.

Devil May Cry

Another action-adventure hack and slash title from Capcom that went on to be a super hit game series. Devil May Cry follows the heart wrenching story of Dante, the main protagonist who is out to avenge his mother’s death.

Dante’s profession is that of a Demon Hunter and after his mother’s death, he had vowed to kill each and every demon in the world to take revenge for his mother’s death. And as Dante kept killing ever demon that dared cross his path, he reached his final destination – Mundus.

Mundus, also known as the ruler of the Demon World, is one of the most difficult bosses to beat in any game out there and truly poses a real challenge to any gamer pursuing to finish the game with success.

Minecraft

What’s this? A children’s sandbox game where they can build pretty stuff is on the list of games with the toughest bosses to beat? Well yes it is. For the unaware amongst you, Minecraft has a series of bosses and has recently added even more bosses that might make you drop your Netherite sword to the ground and run for your life.

Minecraft has a plethora of bosses. Each more difficult than the last. However, you might be wondering why we haven’t mentioned the Ender Dragon yet. Well, that’s because the Dragon is no longer the most difficult boss in the game.

The most recent Caves and Cliffs update in Minecraft introduced us to the Warden. A creature that lives and thrives in the deep dark caverns of underground caves who might even kill you as soon as it sees you getting close enough to it. With what seems like infinite health, the Warden is not one to be messed with.

Bloodborne

Bloodborne is one of the many masterpieces developed by the developers at FromSoftware. The title was published by Sony Computer Entertainment and was very well received by audiences worldwide.

The game was released back in 2015 and follows a hunter who is travelling through Yarnham – a gothic Victorian era City whose inhabitants are infected with a virus that has been classified into being a blood-borne disease.

In the game, you will face off against the Orphan of Kos, who shall challenge you with a range of attacks from almost all of your sides. There is a certain style to beast the Orphan of Kos and the sooner you learn it, the better for you to be able to deal with him later.

Dark Souls

The Dark Souls series is notorious for being known to be one of the most toughest game franchises to play through. They always make sure that the enemies are extra difficult and there are plenty of chances for players to make a mistake.

You play as a cursed undead character whose mission is to head onto a pilgrimage and to uncover the fate of your kind. Throughout this pilgrimage however, you will also find that several enemies try to stand in your way and that you must fight your way through them.

Resident Evil 3

Yet another title developed by Capcom, Resident Evil 3 is a part of the series that was, is, and will still continue to be a blockbuster in the future. Every Resident Evil game that comes out has always had extremely positive reviews except for the times when the RE series seemed to have lost its touch.

The third instalment in the series brings to us yet another difficult boss fight to get over and put on the list! Even though you will fight Nemesis multiple times throughout the game, its his final battle that is the most difficult.

With his quick attacks and instant reach outs, Nemesis becomes a formidable enemy in the final fight with him. The best advice to take this boss on is to be patient and always on your feet.

Cuphead

Cuphead is known to be one of the most difficult modern games. With its 80s Disney-esque characters and animation, Cuphead was a game that really stood out to people and what increased the appeal of the title even more was the fact that it was difficult.

People started playing the ever so cute looking game and started losing their minds over it! And let’s be honest, there’s a small side of us that takes a slice of guilty pleasure every single time there was a streamer who would rage at a game comprising of characters that look and act a lot like Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

The King Dice battle in Cuphead is said to be extremely difficult as it is a compilation of randomly selected mini-bosses in which case you might just get extremely lucky and get easy opponents to deal with, or get absolutely wrecked with your luck and end up with the worst rolls in your life and suffer for eternity.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Hideo Kojima’s masterpiece of a series, Metal Gear, has made its way into this list and one particular instalment in particular is one that really makes itself stand out from the other Metal Gear games by giving us one of the most difficult boss fights out there.

While playing as Raiden, we go up against Desperado Enforcement which is a private military organization and try to take them down while they keep throwing problem after problem our way to keep on jumping through hoops to proceed further.

It’s the final boss that takes the limelight though, Senator Armstrong. Throughout the game, he did not appear as he does in the boss fight thanks to the nanotechnology inside him. It gives him increased strength and durability as well.

God Of War

Where do we even begin with this one? Every little fight can turn into a fight for life and death in God of War and so is the case with every small boss you encounter in the game as well. Will it be Kratos who ends up on the ground? Or his opponent?

There are multiple different tough bosses in the God Of War series. If we were to choose one though, it would be the annoying Hades fight from God of War 3 where Hades keeps swatting us away like flies.

There are also numerous other fights that Kratos took with the Gods but none of them were somehow as frustrating as the fight with Hades who just kept getting the edge upon the player.
