Dead Island 2 has only been out for a few days but has taken no time in becoming a sensation throughout the world. It has brought into perspective the prospects that an open world Zombie game can bring to the gaming world.

The developers of the game have also added a plethora of weapons that players have been thoroughly enjoying killing zombies with. One such highly sought after weapon in Dead Island 2 is the Curtis Rifle.

The Curtis Rifle is an extremely strong weapon in Dead Island 2 which gives the players a lot of advantage over the zombies. However, being one of the strongest weapons in the game, the Curtis Rifle is also very difficult to unlock in the game as well. But fret not! Follow these steps and you will find a rifle of your own to brandish very soon!

You need to start off the mission “Creature Comforts” which you can get by talking to Mr. Curtis at a house in Alpine Drive. The quest will require you to go to Mr. Curtis’ neighbor’s house and then retrieve a bottle of fancy whiskey as well as do one more chore which are common in Dead Island 2

The Quest has two parts – one of them is to retrieve the whiskey from Curtis’ neighbor’s house, and the other requires you to sniff out an 18 year old whiskey called the Ardkillin from Colt’s home.

As you get into Colt’s house to retrieve the Ardkillin, you will find the first clue on the kitchen counter which will lead you into the wine cellar of the house. Once there, you shall find another clue which would lead you to the guest bedroom. Such clue finding riddles are also a common sight in Dead Island 2.

In the guest bedroom, you will find a safe which requires a key to open. The game will tell you to go to the display room and find Cindy’s safe key which you will have to take off of her now zombified, and thanks to you, dead, body. You can then take the keys back to the safe and open it and get the Ardkillin to take back to Curtis.

Dead Island 2 GOAT Pen House

Next, you’d have to go to GOAT Pen’s house, which is the neighbor that Curtis had been talking about. Once you get there, head on over to the indoor bowling alley of the house where you will find GOAT Pen himself. You can take him out to retrieve the master keys of the house.

Once you have gotten the keys, you can head on over to the wine room of the house to find the wine Curtis specifically requested for. Just when you feel you’re done, Dead Island 2 pulls a swift one on you. Once you acquire it. You will get a special transmission from him asking you to find you a box of cigars as well that he had gifted as a housewarming gift.

Though reluctant at first, you will accept the offer when Curtis throws in an extra reward for you. Your old friend then tells you that you’ll be able to find the cigars in the master bedroom of the house of the young millionaire.

Once you get to the bedroom, you’ll get to face off against a special zombie – The Smasher who will have a few extra abilities and a couple more zombies after which, you will be able to find the cigars in the shoe closet.

Collect the cigars from the shoe closet and make your way back to the house where you can find Curtis Sinclair sitting down on his favorite chair overlooking the hills of Hell-A. At this point, as you approach him, the excitement of receiving one of the best guns in the game should be filling you with excitement.

As you talk to him, Curtis thanks you for running an errand for an old man and says that you are too good to him. And then, to keep his word, he gives you his rifle and some rounds of ammo as the extra reward he promised in exchange. And with that, you will have unlocked the Curtis Rifle in Dead Island 2
