In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Play mode, earning more SR is not just as simple as winning or losing. Lead Game Designer Lawrence Metten explains that there are various factors that contribute to the increase or decrease of SR.

Your SR gain or loss is affected by your Division, the SR of your teammates and opponents, as well as your in-game performance. While players initially earn a substantial amount of SR points for every win, some have reported that their Skill Rating, which determines their division and rank, has hit a plateau.

To address these concerns, the developers have revealed the secrets to achieving success in Modern Warfare 2 Ranked.

To climb ranks in Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Play mode, winning boosts your SR and losing drops it. Both individual and team performance affect SR gained or lost, more so in higher Skill Divisions.

Progress through three Tiers in each Skill Division, except Iridescent, for a sense of accomplishment. The Top 250 Skill Division from Vanguard Ranked Play has returned, with the 250 players with highest SR above 10,000 on the Top 250 Leaderboards.

Track your favorite CDL Pros on the leaderboard with their CDL team affiliation and player profile. HPR system compares your performances to similar and higher-ranked players to determine your rank.

Call of Duty developer Lawrence Metten explains that your HPR is linked to your SR, trying to move you closer to your underlying HPR target with each win. Gaining SR points decreases as you climb higher ranks, so perform consistently at a higher level to advance to the next division.

It seems players need to keep grinding and level up as quickly as possible. When players are in lower divisions Low SR is generated. Once players reach Crimson and Iridescent players start to farm more and more SR.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is high-risk high reward game, in order to get better players should grind as much as possible.
