NHL 24 from EA Vancouver appears to be the first truly next-generation feeling game in the renowned hockey series, thanks to substantial on-ice modifications. With the new season onboard, The third effort on next-generation consoles feels like a huge upgrade with a drastic overhaul to the gameplay meta thanks to a new endurance system and a more dynamic interplay between crowds and the action.
The previous instalment NHL 23 achieved the same by breaking the series’ dependency on animations during the gameplay. However, the NHL fans who happen to play games on PC are yet to enjoy on their preferred platform. So the question arises, can PC gamers finally enjoy the game and play on the keyboard or do they have to wait more?

NHL 24 is yet to debut on PC
Sadly, the NHL 24, like previous instalments of the game series, is also set to be Console-exclusive. It will not be released on PCs or Nintendo Switch this year either. It’s a business decision, and it will remain so until sports become popular on computers. Out of everything, having NHL on PC is the least sought or responded to by the community. The game is also available to play for a 10-hour trial with the EA Play membership.
The fact is that everybody who purchases a sports title already owns a console, therefore the game is available to them. This also eliminates the obvious unfair cross-platform advantages that PCs would have. Because the market is limited, it would have to have cross-platform to thrive.
NHL 24 Platforms & Editions
The latest NHL 24 was released on October 6th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. NHL 24, like other EA Sports titles, is available in two editions: Standard and Deluxe (dubbed the X-Factor Edition). The former will cost $59.99 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. While the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will cost $69.99, and the Deluxe Edition will cost $99.99.
The Exhaust Engine in NHL 24 adds satisfying aspects that make games feel more intense. But its balance needs to be refined to keep the defensive team competitive. Significant features include an upgraded checking methodology and the addition of HUT Moments. However, most of the recurring game types are essentially unchanged from the previous couple of years, and the addition of a battle pass, as well as some excessively long wait times to get into games, make it more difficult to cheer for.
