Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder will join Call of Duty as Operator skin
The world of video games and popular culture have always intersected, with various characters from movies, TV shows, and comics appearing in video games. The latest addition to this trend is the inclusion of the villainous Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise in the popular shooter game series, Call of Duty.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) are set to cross over with the Call of Duty series, with the villainous Shredder joining the roster of Operators in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 on March 21. While it’s unclear how Shredder’s inclusion in a shooter game will play out, previous guest characters like Rambo, John McClane, Godzilla, and King Kong have appeared as purchasable Operator Bundles with their own voice lines and challenges.

Shredder from TMNT is set to join Call of Duty

The TMNT franchise has a history of collaborating with video games, with the turtles themselves appearing in games like Injustice 2, Knockout City, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Smite, and Brawlhalla. They also star in their own games, such as the recent releases Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and The Cowabunga Collection.
Later this year, the TMNT will star in an all-new movie called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which features a distinctive art style and an impressive voice cast that includes Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, John Cena, Ice Cube, Post Malone, and more. Shredder, however, is not among the characters in the movie.
While it may seem strange to see a character from a cartoon about mutant turtles wielding firearms, the TMNT franchise has always been open to collaboration, and fans are sure to be excited about Shredder’s inclusion in Call of Duty. With the skin set to release in just a few weeks, fans can expect more information to come soon.
The inclusion of Shredder in Call of Duty shows that the TMNT franchise is still going strong after several decades and that it remains open to collaboration with other forms of media. Fans of both the TMNT and Call of Duty can look forward to seeing how Shredder’s inclusion in the game plays out and can expect more exciting crossovers between video games and popular culture in the future.
