New Anti-Cheat update makes GTA Online crash for legitimate players
GTA Online's latest update is crashing on innocent PCs!

GTA Online is Rockstar Games’ way of keeping GTA V alive until they finally can get to publishing their next iteration in the series, GTA VI. However, GTA Online has been very well received by fans worldwide and sees an active player base in the millions on a daily basis.
GTA Online also sees weekly updates dropping in which contain new content for the players in the form of missions, bonuses, new content, and much more. This is seen as Rockstar’s way of keeping fans of the series engaged and hooked for a longer amount of time.
With a few new Anti-Cheat updates that were pushed out with the weekly content updates, players have been noticing their PCs misbehaving with the game crashing on numerous occasions even though they are not using any cheats whatsoever.
GTA Online is a game whose players are not strangers to cheaters or modders who wreak havoc on servers by gaining an unfair advantage over the other players on the server. These actions could include giving themselves infinite health, or gaining access to laser cannons, or simply making their vehicles indestructible.
Such players are often looked upon as a menace by other players who are just trying to have a fun time with their friends while completing a few heists or grinding a few missions to get a few latest skins.
Rockstar Games does have an anti-cheat system in place for such miscreants, but however, the anti-cheat is seemingly very easy to bypass as the number of cheaters doesn’t seem to decrease no matter how many updates Rockstar pushes out with every update.

GTA Online anti-cheat backfires on legitimate players

In the most recent GTA Online update which included the weekly challenges and bonuses Rockstar also pushed out a few anti-cheat updates which they had hoped would help with the cheater situation in their game.
However, it seems that after updating, the game has only been crashing more frequently for players who are not using any cheats whatsoever making them really annoyed at Rockstar’s actions. No patch has been released by Rockstar so far to fix the problem and neither have they released a statement yet.
