How to unlock the WM 29 pistol in GTA Online

Rockstar Games have been showering GTA Online fans with a ton of Christmas-themed Events. In the weekly update on December 22, 2022, they added a new event called Weazel Plaza shootout to pay homage to the popular movie Die Hard.

Die Hard is one of the most cult classic movies ever made. If you love action movies, it is the best Christmas movie to watch during the holiday season. The Weazel Plaza shootout is inspired by the Nakatomi Plaza in Die Hard. On top of that, the mission also features an NPC that looks like Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber.

Rockstar Games has finally given players a chance to be John McClane and take out the evil Hans Gruber. After finishing the event, each player receives a special weapon. There are, however, a few requirements that must be met for it to trigger the event.

How to trigger the Weazel Plaza shootout event?

The Weazel Plaza shootout is a free-roam event. This event takes place at the top of Weazel Plaza at Rockford Hills in Los Santos. Players must have a flying vehicle, be it a chopper or rocket-fitted car to trigger the event. It occurs from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. every day (in-game). Players must join any kind of session in GTA Online and wait around 20 minutes for it to spawn. To start the event, one must also be in the air and within 400 meters of the Weazel Plaza.

When the event triggers, there is a camera shift and it focuses on the building for a brief moment. It also shows some cut scenes inspired by the movie. You will get a 3-star wanted level as soon as you get close to the Weazel Plaza. After that, you have to land on the top of the building. Take out all the police choppers hovering nearby. When you take out these choppers, it will raise your wanted level and will lead to spawning more police units. There will be three NPCs on the roof. They will be involved in taking gunfights with the police. You have to take these NPCs down.

You can easily kill two of the NPCs. But the one that resembles Hans Gruber will be difficult to get rid of. He has high HP and requires you to hit multiple Headshots. After defeating and neutralizing him, you can take the WM 29 pistol near his body. You will see a prompt notification reading :

“The WM 29 Pistol has been added to your weapon wheel. Upgrades can be purchased for this pistol at Ammu-Nation.”

After completing the Weazel Plaza shootout event for the first time, You will get a pistol, a new Season’s Greetings skin for pistol MK 2, and 1000 RP. Players can upgrade their WM 29 in the Ammu-Nations store. Players can add a suppressor and some color tints.

You can play this event multiple times as long as the conditions are met. But after the first time, the Hans Gruber look-like will have his wallet in which players can find $25,000.
