For those unaware about the recent controversy, NBA professional basketballer Ja Morant had recently flashed a firearm during an Instagram live. This is not the first time the NBA star has displayed erratic behavior on the internet. The first time was in March 2023, when he had flashed a firearm at a strip cub in Colorado. The Memphis Grizzlies’ point guard had shown the gun hours after his team’s basketball match against the Denver Nuggets. The NBA league had suspended him for a few matches due to this and he was badly targeted by internet trolls.
Temetrius Jamal “Ja” Morant is an American professional basketballer playing the point guard position for the Memphis Grizzlies in the National Basketball Association. The 23 year old had played for Murray State Racers before being drafted to the NBA as the 2nd pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft. He quickly rose to become a franchise player due to his flashy plays and monstrous dunks that he used to carry his team to victory. He was awarded the “Rookie of the Year” award for his outstanding performance in the 2019-20 NBA season.

The controversial Kick streamer Adin Ross shared his thought on the situation and claimed that Ja Morant was a “thug” and should be locked up. “Lock him up! He’s a thug! Lock him up! Put him in f**king prison! Solitary confinement! Put him in there! Put him in f**king jail!”he said. Adin went on to explain that Ja was a superstar that was worth tens of millions of dollars and had to serve as a proper role model because many people looked up to the NBA star.
Although Adin Ross later clarified that he said all of this as a joke and took the situation lightly, not everyone had the same thoughts. The NBA has suspended the Memphis Grizzlies star for another erratic episode and no further information has been passed after that.
