She would go viral for boasting about cars and money, rapping explicit words, and saying outlandish things at only 9 years of age. Lil Tay had previously been mentioned by Adin Ross, despite never crossing paths. This came after Lil Tay had allegedly been claimed dead after viral news of her being dead went viral. However, after 24 hours, she clarified on her Instagram that her account was hacked and she was alive. Adin Ross had reacted to this with xQc.

Following her music release, she was alleged to have been abused by her father and stepmother. She also claimed that they were behind the hoax that caused the world to believe she was dead.
