Popular Twitch streamer Adin Ross recently took to his YouTube channel to reveal how he received a “threat” from a Twitch official. Speaking of the incident, the streamer claimed that after he returned to streaming after a week’s suspension, he was saying some “real s**t on his livestream.” However, shortly after, he got a call from a Twitch official, who told him that if he continued saying “certain things” on livestream, he might be looking at a permanent ban from the platform.
Ross spoke about this incident in a YouTube video titled “They tried to silence me”, where he stated that he was basically being threatened by Twitch officials. He posted the update on his YouTube channel on February 12, and said that Twitch was trying to “silence” him.
In the 2:21 minute long video, Adin Ross spoke about how Twitch officials threatened him with permanent suspension. He explained that since his return from his week-long suspension, he had streamed a couple of times. He claimed that he was always honest with his audience and only spoke things he truly felt. However, on the latest livestream, he got a call from a Twitch official stating that if he continued saying some of the things that he said on his livestream, he would be looking at a permanent ban.
“The first thing I did was I laughed at that because I thought to myself, ‘It’s really like being silenced.’ Because they’re basically saying, I can’t preach what I want to preach without having to worry about getting indefinitely suspended. That made me think and realize, like, this is not safe.”
Adin Ross went on to claim that the conversation got him extremely spooked. Since then, him and his team have been brainstorming ways in which he can continue doing what he does without facing repurcussions.
Streamers such as JiDion and others have also faced permanent bans on Twitch for not following the platform’s instructions earlier.

Could this threat from Twitch influence Adin Ross to look at a YouTube shift?
At the end of his video, Adin Ross mentioned that him and his team were looking for solutions to the threat. One of those solutions could be a shift to YouTube, like many other streamers. Over the past few years, many streamers have made the switch from Twitch to YouTube. Several such streamers have claimed that part of the reason behind their decision was Twitch’s strict content policies. Therefore, if Adin Ross decides to shift to YouTube, fans would not be very surprised.
Ross is an exclusive Twitch partner, and received his partnership back in April 2020. However, when his contract expires, fans can expect him to announce a shift. While Ross has not made any such statements yet, fans can keep an eye out for further details about his plan.
