After a Luminosity setback, 100T’s new VALORANT roster falls short in their VCT debut, falling to 0-3 in NA Challengers One

The 100 Thieves VALORANT roster continues to lose in VCT NA Challengers One, one week after their 13-0 loss to The Guard and following roster changes. With the overtime loss against Luminosity, 100T’s chances of making the playoffs are dwindling.

Following a grand final run in the Knights Arena Monthly Gauntlet for February, where they secured a 13-0 win before eventually falling to TSM, 100T’s fresh squad came into today’s match with enthusiasm.

This momentum, however, came to a halt on map one, 100T’s personal favourite, Split. Their offensive prowess didn’t show until late in the half, as they fell down early before clawing back a few rounds at the end to trail 8-4 at the break. Luminosity split the split 13-9 thanks to TiGG and mada, who each had over 20 kills and a +10 K/D disparity across the map.

On Fracture, 100T got off to a sluggish start, but recovered quickly with a great defensive performance to lead 7-5 at halftime. With 27 kills on Breach, Bang achieved his greatest individual map performance since joining 100T. Ethan and jcStani’s timely kills helped 100T win a third map with a 13-9 Fracture victory.

In the first five rounds of 100T’s defensive half, Hiko switched to Viper on Breeze, putting up a few fantastic clutches and a total of ten kills. He had 15 at the half, but LG produced chances on offence and took advantage of them with quick site takes and efficient post-plant settings, tied the game at 6-6 before exchanging sides.

The two teams traded rounds until an 11-11 tie was reached, before LG took the lead thanks to a fantastic 2v2 retake by moose and TiGG. Bang delivered two entry kills and a third during the LG retake to send the map to overtime, and 100T went back to A.

Bdog responded to LG’s attack by soloing a 2v3 post-plant by moving to several holding locations around the map.

100T isn’t out of the running for the playoffs, but they’ll need some help to get there. They’d have to beat XSET and Evil Geniuses in their final two games, as well as hope that XSET loses to Luminosity. LG now has a 2-1 lead.
