Alan Wake 2: Release Date, Platforms, and More

Alan Wake stirred the world of suspense thrillers with his tense music that keeps players on the edge of their seats and hits differently. As expected, the game was quite well received by the audience. The looming sight of shadows and the feeling of vulnerability kept players up at night. With a seamless gaming experience and immersive surroundings that set a depressing mood. Remedy Entertainment did a decent job with Alan Wake.

With that being said, there is no denying the fact that Remedy Entertainment has a knack for delivering impressive mood settings and, none comes close to it. The previous installment of the Max Payne series was a classic hit and assembled a high framerate of gunfights that would not lack fluency either.

With all the glory that Alan Wake has received, Remedy Entertainment has come up with a sequel. Alan Wake 2, which comes with some surprises and new features, is all set for October 17, 2023 release. Furthermore, the game was announced about two years earlier, in 2021. But now that its release date is out, it’s all in the past. The new game features additional characters that players can play.

This has been revealed through the recent new trailer, which shows a glimpse into what the game will look like upon release. Saga Anderson, an investigator who arrives in Bright Fall for his case, presides over the series of murders and solves the case. He is the new playable character players will get to experience.

The game gives more story touch-ups regarding its conventional way of revealing the secrets of the case. The story would still revolve around the much-loved character, Alan Wake. Players now get to go to multiple places, like Bright Fall, a forest that is near Lake Cauldron. And the most anticipated location is the old and scary town of Watery. The game will be available on PS5, Xbox One, and PC.

The game is up for pre-order at $59.99 on the console and $49.99 for the PC version. Also, the Deluxe edition is priced at $69.99 for PC while for console the price is set at $79.99.

Players who opt to buy deluxe editions will receive the following content:

  • Expansion Pass.
  • Nordic Shotgun Skin for Saga
  • Parliament Shotgun Skin for Alan
  • Crimson Windbreaker for Saga
  • Celebrity Suit for Alan
  • Lantern Charm for Saga

The game has been explored, giving a varied perspective to the game through the eyes of both Alan Wake and Saga Anderson. This thriller is sure to make players tremble in fear. And expect a lot of jump scares to come after it. Coming up with a new idea, the creative director of the game, Sam Lake, has also made an entry into the game with a small scene. It would be interesting to see what the game has him do in the storyline.
