Halo Infinite has been out for a few months on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, but no official word from 343 Industries on whether or not it plans to add a battle royale mode to the free-to-play multiplayer. And while we still haven’t heard anything from 343 Industries, we do have a new leak, courtesy of the game’s files, that suggests the possibility of a battle royale mode, or at the very least a mode with battle royale components.

Halo Infinite new leak about Battle Royale Mode

Taking to Twitter, HaloHub relayed word of this new mode, accompanied by an image bolstering the claim. According HaloHub and the image they provide, a successor to Halo 5’s Warzone is in development, but with Battle Royale mode elements sprinkled in. That said, HaloHub doesn’t expect this mode to release anytime soon.

“It looks like a successor to Halo 5’s Warzone may be in the works with Battle Royale-like characteristics,” reads the tweet relaying the leak. “We received these screenshots recently and know others have too. Note: We don’t expect this mode to release anytime soon.”

This, like any other leak, should be treated with caution. While HaloHub is a trustworthy source with supporting material, this media was given to them by an unnamed source on which we are unable to do a track-record test. 343 Industries and Xbox have not addressed any of this in any way as of the time of Halo Infinite publication. For a variety of reasons, we don’t expect this to change, but if it does, we’ll let you know.
