BGMI 2.1 update: Release date, patch notes and more

BGMI 2.1 update is making its way to the Google Play Store and App Store very soon as Krafton has released a unique kind of video featuring popular content creators and host such as Payal Gaming and Mazy to give a brief description on what the ‘Toofani’ update holds for the fans.

Battlegrounds Mobile India recently celebrated its one year anniversary and also hit the milestone of reaching 100 million downloads across the mobile platforms. It is now receiving its 2.1 update which has been discussed below.

BGMI 2.1 update release date

As of now, there has been no official notice given by the developers regarding the release date of the new content. However, Tencent announced that PUBG Mobile will receive the update on 13th July, a similar phenomenon can therefore, be expected for Battlegrounds Mobile India. The BGMI 2.1 update will release on both Android and iOS but the time can differ.

Players will be able to download the new update on Google Play Store for Android devices and App Store for iOS. We recommend a Wi-Fi connection so that the update can be downloaded without any interruptions.

Patch notes

A new preview video featuring Mazy, Payal Gaming and Shreeman was released where the popular content creators discussed about the new features of this update and which feature interests them the most.

Ancient Secret: Arise Mode

The primary attraction of the BGMI 2.1 update is the Ancient Secret: Arise mode. One of the most favorite game mode by the fans is returning in the July update. Players will jump into a newly designed lobby with the sand monster trying to catch the plane when players commence the match. This mode will be available in Erangel, Miramar and Livik.

• Scarab Ruins and Jackal Ruins will be added to in the matches where players will be required to solve puzzles in the latter ruin
• Scarab Charm in the Sandstorm City will help players to get a new life
• Boss monsters in Emperor temple should be defeated to get new loot

New weapon- Lynx AMR

A new sniper rifle named Lynx AMR has been added to the game in the BGMI 2.1 update. This sniper bullet can go through the vehicles, assisting the players to defeat the enemies. As for the damage, Lynx AMR can easily defeat a player wearing Level 3 helmet at one shot. This weapon will therefore be a worthy opponent of AWM.

Weapon enhancements

• The burst area of UMP45 is slightly reduced and some adjustments have also been made to the adsing and laser sight.
• The basic damage and bullet speed of Thompson has been increased
• Vector and UZI will now deal greater damage to the enemies in long range

Other features

BGMI 2.1 update has brought a useful feature where players will only get knocked out due to vehicle explosion whereas earlier they died while travelling in the car. Another interesting thing to note is that players will now have a sound training feature which is very important in classic matches.
