Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge

After an unknown delay, the registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge finally commences today. As this is an open for all tournament, BGMI players across the country can rejoice due to the commencement of the battle-royale game’s first tournament this year.

After successfully concluding BGMI India Series 2021 that featured a prize pool of 1 Crore, Krafton announced their next steps for expanding BGMI Esports in the country. With over 4 major tournaments and the announcement of Indian teams participating at PMGC 2022-23, players are immensely excited. The excitement has accentuated now since the registrations have started.

BGMI: BMOC 2022 format changes & eligibility criteria explained

Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC) is going to be the first major BGMI tournament of this year that will be the stepping stone for BMPS (Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series). The registrations for BMOC have commenced and similar to BGIS 2021, players can head over to the eSports website of BGMI, login with their e-mail ID and fill up the necessary details for registration.

It is important to note that only players above the age of 16 can are eligible to participate in this tournament. If players are above the age of sixteen but under the age of eighteen, their parent’s consent is mandatory for participation in this tournament. BMOC 2022 will be divided into three stages-

In-game qualifiers (April 4th-April 10th)

Registered players along with their teammates will be required to play fifteen matches in total out of which only 10 will be considered valid. A total of 512 teams will be able to qualify for the next stage of the tournament.

BMOC (21st April-15th May)

Round 1: The 512 qualified teams will be placed in 32 different groups where they need to play a total of 5 matches out of which the top eight teams from each group will be able to proceed towards the next round.

Round 2: The 265 qualified teams will further be divided into 16 groups where similar number of matches need to be played. Top 4 teams from each group will qualify for the next round.

Round 3: The top 64 teams will be seeded into 4 groups where a total of six matches need to be played by the teams. Out of these 4 groups, top 8 teams will qualify for the next round.

Round 4: The final round of BMOC 2022 online qualifiers will feature 32 teams which will be divided into 4 groups. After a total od six matches, top six teams will enter BMPS (BGMI India Pro Series)

BMPS (19 May-12 June)

Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series will be played in two stages which have been mentioned below:

League Stage- The top 24 qualified teams from BMOC 2022 will be divided into 3 groups where players need to battle it out in a round robin format. After 24 set round robins by each team, top 16 teams will be able to qualify for the finals.

Grand Finals- The Top 16 teams qualifying from League Stage will play 24 matches over a period of 4 days and the team with the highest points shall be declared as the winner of BGMI India Pro Series 2022.
