Krafton is currently hosting the major the tournaments of Battlegrounds Mobile India set for the current year. Fans are soon to witness the fourth round of BMOC 2022 (Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge) where professional athletes are going to meet the qualified amateur players.
Amidst this, a well known caster Spero, who is seen as the host of major BGMI tournaments such as BGIS and BMOC wrote in his Instagram story, “Thodi thand lag rahi hai, BMPS mein aur bhi ho sakti hai”. This implies its chilly right now it might get even more cold during BMPS. This clearly indicates a hint on the comeback of Vikendi.
According to Spero, the Vikendi map could be seen in the upcoming competitive tournament, Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) 2022. A total of 24 teams are set to advance towards the last stage of BMOC that consists a prize pool of 2 Crore INR. The tournament is all set to commence from 19th May and conclude on 12th June.
What can the return of Vikendi mean for competitive players?
The competitive players of BGMI only play tournaments in Erangel, Sanhok and Miramar as Vikendi was removed from competitive during the first half of PUBG Mobile eSports last year. If the map indeed makes a comeback, then players might have to adopt some new strategies to deal with their opponents.
Vikendi has a lot of open locations which makes smoke grenades a necessary item to carry in BGMI matches. Exlcusive weapons such as G36C don’t lead much damage but it will be intriguing to see whether players to try to experiment a little. A new map asks for a new strategy and the comeback of Vikendi will certainly be a sight to behold.
