Star Sports x NODWIN Gaming brings BGMI LAN tournament on TV
In a surprising move, Gurgaon-based eSports organization has joined hands with Star Sports to livestream their upcoming LAN tournament of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) on television.
LAN events are returning to the country colors to the blooming sector of eSports in India. Several companies are coming forward to host offline tournaments on trending games in the country such as BGMI, Free Fire and Valorant. While LAN events are a common phenomenon, fans were taken aback to hear that the tournament will be aired on TV.

LAN events were missed by fans ever since pandemic hit the country but fortunately, as we are eventually recovering form the global pandemic, eSports organizations aren’t missing their chance to host LAN tournaments. The initial step was taken by NODWIN Gaming as it conducted the first BGMI LAN tournament that became a huge success.
Skyesports has also been making efforts to boost the culture of eSports by conducting LAN tournaments of Valorant and other games. However, what caught the eyes of fans was that NODWIN Gaming is going to broadcast their BGMI tournament on a certain television channel, as they inked partnership with Star Sports, as per some sources.
The format and schedule of the BGMI tournament is currently not disclosed but according to a report from Esports Gen, the tournament is likely to start from 20th June and continue for over a month. Since this program is going to be broadcasted, it is natural to expect that prize pool of more than 2 Crores INR will be up for grabs.
Esports Gen has also mentioned that NODWIN Gaming might invite some popular BGMI teams from this tournament or also wait for the results of the ongoing Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS 2022). In any case, the news of tournament streaming on Television has instilled among the players.
The inclusion of Star Sports in the eSports ecosystem of India might help to expand the operation of this blooming sector into every corner of India and include more players in the competition.
