Co-creator of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, Beenox, has unveiled a new setting that would minimize the strain on players’ eyes caused by flashbang grenades. The patch for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2’s Season 2 Reloaded will include the small yet frequently requested update.
Beenox, an Activision affiliate, is most known for PC ports and working with other studios including CoD developers Raven, Treyarch, and Infinity Ward. Also, it was one of many firms that worked on Infinity Ward’s newest Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 introduces “Inverted Flash” setting
Fans of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have expressed concerns about the game’s flashbang grenades for a while now. The intense white flash has been enough to induce real-world pain for anybody who happens to be gaming in a dark room, even if they’re just designed to briefly blind the player in the game.
The fact that Warzone 2 and MW2’s Season 2 Reloaded offer a new “Inverted Flash” setting, which fixes the issue when enabled from the games’ interface menu, will indeed come as a relief to some fans. In a brief video published on Twitter, Beenox demonstrated how the setting functions.
Inverted Flash is enabled in the video, and a Modern Warfare 2 player tosses a flashbang grenade toward the target’s feet. The screen would typically become entirely white for a few moments before fading back to normal. However, this setting results in the entire screen going black.
After that, the flashbang partially fades out before switching to a white effect. This continues until the flashbang is fully gone. If players decide to leave it on, this setting should stop the flashbang from blinding players in reality.
This feature is not just present in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. Battlefield 2042 offers the very same concept as one of its accessibility options. This function has also been requested by certain Warzone 2 gamers for a while.
At the moment, it’s unclear if Raven Software and Beenox knew about these requests. However, many supporters on Twitter looked like they were satisfied with the decision. Their eyes will welcome this new feature too.
