The second season of Modern Warfare 2, which includes Hardcore and Ranked Play, debuts on February 15. Players lashed out at the creators for their “all-time low” seasonal content offering and for leaving Gun Game out of Season 2.

By announcing the return of the popular party game mode Infected in Season 2, Infinity Ward won back fans’ love. The popular game mode has been included in nine installments of the series and always offers a welcome change of pace. The creators didn’t stop there; they also confirmed the addition of a second party game mode to MW2.

The first time Gun Game was included was in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Every kill grants you access to a new weapon, and every melee kill lowers the other player’s rank by one. Each player starts with a pistol. When someone successfully uses each of the twenty weapons, including a final melee kill, the game is over.

A Call of Duty player tweeted on February 7: “If CoD drops gun game, I’m making a vid. I love that mode.”  Gun Game will return on February 15 as part of the Season 2 update, according to Activision. The game mode promotes combative play, and its rapid-fire speed distinguishes it from competing games.

Gun Game’s inclusion in Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 follows a prior revelation that Infected would be making a comeback. Hopefully, the inclusion of additional game modes will increase gameplay variety and provide Modern Warfare 2 an unique, refreshing experience.

Members of the community speculated on what additional party game modes might return. One in the chamber and prop hunt were the two ideas that received the greatest approval. There is still a lot of information regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 to be unveiled, and possibly the developers will confirm the introduction of more anticipated modes.
