Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is Giving Away Double XP Tokens to Vault Edition Owners

In order to clear up any misunderstandings over their in-game store purchase, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is giving all Vault Edition owners 10 hours of Double XP tokens and 10 hours of Double Weapon XP tokens. Activision initially restricted the distribution of Double XP tokens to owners of the vault editions of games like Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War that were bought from the in-game store.

The community reacted strongly to this because, as is understandable, fans did not like having their options for making purchases restricted.  Modern Warfare 2 has been live globally since October 28, and has had a strong start.

All Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition Owners Will Get Double XP Tokens

All Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition Owners will be eligible for Double XP tokens, according to a statement from Activision, regardless of where they purchased the game. It is anticipated that players who haven’t already received the tokens will receive 10 hours of Double XP Tokens and 10 hours of Double Weapon XP tokens.

In order to introduce a more tactical approach with a redesigned weapon progression and perk system, Modern Warfare 2 has gone back to the drawing board. With the return of the gunsmith mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, players can now customize their weapons in a more refined and realistic manner by adjusting each attachment to suit their desired playing style.

Similar to earlier Call of Duty games, Modern Warfare 2 has two distinct XP systems: a general XP that advances the player’s level and unlocks game play features, and a weapon-specific XP that levels up each weapon and unlocks related attachments and weaponry.

With all Vault Edition purchasers now guaranteed to receive the Double XP tokens, it will be easier for players to level up in-game and unlock guns and other game play elements faster as well as weapon attachments and weapons from the same family. Players will be able to double their XP throughout the 10-hour Double XP period by using the tokens.

The $100 Vault Edition also came with exclusive operators from the campaign, such as Captain Price, Soap, Ghost, and Farah, as well as FJX Cinder Weapon Vault, first season battle pass with 50 tier skip, and operator skins for Modern Warfare and Warzone. These were in addition to the double XP tokens. Through Steam and Battle.net, Modern Warfare 2 is accessible on Windows PC, along with it also being accessible on  Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.
