“Awesome,” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players delighted with new Ranked Mode update
The content of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's ranked mode has undergone a significant update, which has been well-received online by gamers.
The Himmelmatt Expo (R) has arrived in Ranked Play
Based on input from the community, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has updated its ranked mode in a very productive way. The Call of Duty community is still engaged and vocal about the positive and negative issues that occasionally arise in the franchise.
On numerous social media platforms, fans can be rather opinionated and share their ideas for how to make the whole experience better. Although many of the issues raised by the community can be found on the official Call of Duty Trello Board, developers like Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Raven, and others do investigate reported issues raised by the community.
With games like Call of Duty coming of age and being so popular, It’s still unclear whether eSports have peaked at the top of the mountain or there’s a new undiscovered layer for them to enter. Unlike industries such as gambling, a vast industry bolstered by the emergence and accessibility of the internet and smartphone access, eSports only exists due to the advancements in internet connectivity. However, it appears it has caused two flourishing industries that can amicably co-exist. Playing online roulette follows the same pattern as going to a physical casino, but you don’t need to spend time and money traveling there; you can play at your convenience.

Ranked Play, one of the major new additions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Season 2, has quickly gained popularity among players despite the game’s ongoing hacker problems. Players also complained about the small number of available maps, however Treyarch’s recent statement seeks to address this by replacing some of the substandard maps and game modes.
The Himmelmatt Expo game will be available in Ranked Play with the game modes Control and Search & Destroy, according to a recent Tweet from Treyarch. Despite the fact that this is more of a trial run, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have already reacted favorably to the news. This is in light of the fact that some of the current maps, such as Fortress or Al Bagra, are not particularly liked by the community.
CouRage, one of the more famous Call of Duty streamers, immediately reacted to the news by complimenting the action and calling it awesome. Others agreed, calling it a wonderful addition and an excellent map. Some even made light-hearted remarks about how Treyarch should consider getting the opportunity to collaborate on its own Call of Duty game where it make all the decisions.

Activision appeared to discreetly announce that Warzone 2 is also getting a ranked mode in addition to Ranked Play for Modern Warfare 2. Fans will probably have to wait a little longer to get their hands on Warzone ranked because the Call of Duty development teams appears to be working on it for Season 3 and what will follow. Warzone ranked was hinted at as a future release within a list of planned content.
Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play release date
After announcing the start of Modern Warfare 2 Season Two has been pushed back, Infinity Ward confirms MW2 ranked play will launch on February 15 as part of the seasonal update. Expect plenty of intel on the mode to appear in the coming weeks.
Modern Warfare 2 ranked play developer
As mentioned above, Black Ops developer Treyarch will lead development of Modern Warfare 2 ranked play. This is certainly good news for fans of competitive Call of Duty as the developer is responsible for some of the best titles in the history of the shooter franchise.
These improvements actually make Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 more akin to other competitive games found on typical e-sports events, as the newly introduced skill division system directly affects matchmaking at higher levels, preventing the game from mixing absolute noobs with absolute pros. And to be entirely honest, it was long overdue, especially with hackers trying to dominate the game and scale the ranks quickly.
The new ranking system will help weed out the hackers from gamers with actual skill, making the ranked gaming experience much more enjoyable for all and besides the Ranked Mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Activision is apparently developing the same for Warzone 2, though those are just speculation at this point. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently available on PC and both previous- and current-gen PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
